Dylan Schroeder passes exam to become Professional Landscape Architect

Fehr Graham, a leading Midwest engineering and environmental firm, announced that Dylan Schroeder passed the Landscape Architect Registration Examination (LARE) and is now a Professional Landscape Architect.

This extensive exam is four sections focused on different areas of landscape architecture and is designed to test competence. The LARE is administered and graded by The Council of Landscape Architectural Registration Boards. Schroeder has more than six years of experience and advocates for creating dynamic outdoor environments in schools and parks. He works in Fehr Graham's Rockford, Illinois, office but leads projects throughout the firm.

"Becoming licensed reflects Dylan's dedication to the profession and enhances Fehr Graham's value offered to our clients," said Rockford Branch Manager Ross Grimes. "Dylan is passionate and focused. He has a knack for reimagining places and spaces with sustainability at the forefront and in a way that delivers real results for our communities. We couldn't be prouder."

Schroeder leads all phases of the design process, including planning and programming, schematic design, design development, construction documentation and construction administration. He also applies principles to Best Management Practices. His work has been recognized by the American Society of Landscape Architects.

"This has been a goal of mine since I began working," Schroeder said. "I'm lucky to have a supportive culture with a talented team at a company where I can stretch my wings and deliver the best services across the region while growing personally and professionally."

His career has encompassed designing and managing a wide range of projects, including streetscapes, urban centers, riverfront projects, parks and recreation, green roofs and rooftop gardens, historic landscape rehabilitation and educational and institutional projects.

A Mount Vernon, Iowa, native, Schroeder joined Fehr Graham in 2017. He earned his bachelor's degree in Landscape Architecture from Iowa State University. He and his wife, Flannery Lucas, live in Janesville, Wisconsin.
