Fehr Graham repeats as Best Firm to Work For

Fehr Graham, a leading Midwest engineering and environmental firm, is a Zweig Group Best Firm to Work For again.

The firm ranked No. 26 in the civil engineering category and No. 34 among firms with 200+ employees. Last year, the firm ranked No. 29 in civil engineering and No. 31 among firms with more than 200 employees.

The Zweig Group presents the Best Firms to Work For Award to recognize architecture, engineering and construction firms that invest in the employee experience. Each year, the organization collects more than 2 million data points through anonymous employee surveys to evaluate and rank firms based on workplace culture, professional development, employee benefits, retention and workplace policies.

The best workplaces are created by people who are invested in each other's success. Our employees challenge one another, support one another and continually look for ways to grow. Being recognized again is a testament to the environment they've helped create and sustain."

In addition to being a Best Firm to Work For, Fehr Graham ranked No. 82 on the 2026 Zweig Group Hot Firm list, marking the firm's fifth consecutive and 11th overall appearance on the list. The list recognizes the fastest-growing AEC firms in the U.S. and Canada based on revenue growth over a three-year period.

Fehr Graham also recently made the Engineering News-Record (ENR) Top 500 Design Firms list for the fifth straight year, and the ENR's Midwest Top Design Firm list for the third straight year.

Founded in Freeport, Illinois, in 1973 by Al Fehr and Joe Graham, the firm has grown from five employees in one office to 260 people across 11 offices in three states. The firm's impressive growth in recent years has been driven by strategic acquisitions and a people-first culture that empowers employees to grow, lead and thrive.

The 2026 Best Firms to Work For winners and Hot List honorees will be recognized at the 2026 Elevate AEC Conference Sept. 29-Oct. 1 in Park City, Utah.
