Mick reaches beyond the everyday engineering needs our clients face. Instead, he listens to their problems – whether it be finding grants or loans to pay for projects, offering cutting-edge solutions or garnering public support. Simply put, Mick gets results because he gets to know the firm’s clients so he can better anticipate their needs.

Mick’s internal clock works on overdrive, leading people and projects with a proven track record of on-time delivery. Many trust him and the Fehr Graham team to design intricate transportation, water and other projects to better communities.

Mick graduated from Montana Tech with a bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering. He and his wife, Kate, live in Forreston, Illinois, and have three adult children.

IN MICK’S OWN WORDS …

How would you describe what you do to someone unfamiliar with your job?

We help communities and developers design and plan infrastructure improvements like roads, water mains, sanitary sewers, water and wastewater treatment plants, and bridges.

What do you like most about working at Fehr Graham?

I have always enjoyed the fact that working here provides the opportunity to learn something every day. No two projects are ever alike.

Tell us about your professional accomplishments.

I joined the firm in 1993 as an Engineer and became a Principal in 2000. Since then, I’ve worn many hats. Today, I serve as Chief Executive Officer and as the Engineering Division Lead. While I enjoy creating and implementing strategic plans for the firm, I am passionate about solving our clients’ complex problems in a cost-efficient way. I also coach and mentor our up-and-coming leaders because the next generation will ensure Fehr Graham thrives for years to come.

Who are you outside work?

I am a simple guy with a strong commitment to my family. I spend a lot of time at our farm where we raise corn and beans and take care of a small operation of black Angus cows.

How would your co-workers and clients describe you?

I am someone who can be counted on to figure things out and get things done on time.

What do you enjoy about helping clients and the communities in which they work and live?

Knowing everything we do helps improve the quality of life for all who live in those communities is satisfying. We design safe sidewalks, roads and bridges, we clean up brownfield sites, and we help spur economic development.
