Noah Carmichael is a transportation and municipal engineering specialist. He has led many high-profile projects, including complex railroad and roadway designs for municipal and private clients.

Noah works closely with municipal and governmental clients on public utility and development projects, helping them secure permits and grant funding. He is responsible for leading cost estimating, client coordination, scheduling, cost control and quality assurance.

Noah graduated from the University of Illinois with a bachelor’s degree in General Engineering. He lives in Rochelle, Illinois, with his wife, Raegan, and their three children.

IN NOAH’S OWN WORDS …

How would you describe what you do to someone unfamiliar with your job?

I come up with solutions to complex infrastructure problems, determine how to implement them and effectively communicate the solutions.

What do you like most about working at Fehr Graham?

I am blessed each day to be able to lead a team with diverse personalities and skills. I also enjoy the variety of work we get to complete. Each day brings new challenges, which lead to interacting with a wide variety of clients.

Tell us about your professional accomplishments.

I am a Licensed Professional Engineer in Illinois and Missouri. I am a Principal, and I play a strategic role in advancing the company and providing the best work environment for our staff.

Who are you outside work?

Outside work, my first priority is family. My extended family has a farming operation, so I like helping out during the spring planting and fall harvest seasons. I earned a private pilot certificate when I was in college and still find time to fly.

How would your co-workers and clients describe you?

Honest, personable, knowledgeable and trustworthy. .

What do you enjoy about helping clients and the communities in which they work and live?

I like to see someone’s vision become a reality. I find great joy in seeing a project unfold from inception to completion knowing I played an important role in the outcome.
