For nearly 30 years, Fehr Graham has been a trusted partner providing engineering services to the City of Center Point, Iowa. We have helped with everything from land surveys, street improvements and community planning to wastewater and water treatment, park developments and site development, including City Hall and the new Fire Station. We also helped the City replace the Vine Street Bridge over Apple Creek.

Fehr Graham worked closely with the City to obtain funding for the bridge project through the Iowa City Bridge Program. Our team supported the project through concept development, preliminary design, public input meetings, temporary and permanent property acquisition, final design, project bidding and construction.

With state funding secured, the project was bid through the Iowa Department of Transportation (DOT). Because of this, we had to comply with the Iowa DOT Local Public Agency process for material testing and acceptance. Our team helped the City set up users in Doc Express and comply with the digital documentation requirements. We supported the City of Center Point through the preconstruction phase by reviewing subcontractors, preparing project documentation, including developing quantity documentation forms, daily reports, and weekly working day reports and shop drawings.

Through construction, we helped with utility relocation, including City water main, storm sewer, gas main and electrical power lines to clear space for a larger crane to install the foundation, pier piling and steel.

Before project close-out, our team worked closely with the Iowa DOT and contractor to ensure the work complied with the project specifications, documentation was complete, and funding reimbursements were allocated to the City following the funding agreement.
