Fehr Graham's focus on water, wastewater and infrastructure projects is among the reasons why the firm needs more engineers and environmental specialists. While many sectors cooled during the pandemic, companies like Fehr Graham benefited from the U.S. government's spending on roads, water and sewer, and other infrastructure projects.

"We're looking to hire people and can't find them," Gronewold told The Associated Press. "We're struggling to fill our positions."
