City of DeKalb taps Fehr Graham for roundabout
Fehr Graham will work with the City of DeKalb, Illinois, Illinois Department of Transportation, and Northern Illinois University (NIU) to complete a $1.8 million roundabout at Lucinda Avenue and Normal Road. The majority of construction will take place over the summer. The City plans to close Lucinda's intersection after NIU's graduation and introduce the roundabout before its students return to campus in the fall. The project formally began with the closure of Normal Road in 2023 and received funding through the federal Surface Transportation Urban grant program.

The City of DeKalb has tapped a Freeport-based construction firm to build a $1.8 million roundabout at Lucinda Avenue and Normal Road near Northern Illinois University. Construction could be complete by the fall.
