Evergreen Park proposes improvements to Yukich Field

Evergreen Park, Illinois, residents met to discuss the future of their well-loved park, Yukich Field. Fehr Graham's Landscape Architecture team designed improvements that include a playground, parking lot, covered pickleball courts, longer walking trail, paths and landscaping. Community input is important, said Fehr Graham Landscape Architect Mark Decker, PLA, ASLA, to applying and getting an Illinois parks grant. The Open Space Lands Acquisition and Development Program grant would provide $600,000 toward the project, with the Village kicking in another $600,000. If awarded in 2026, construction could begin early 2027.
