Iowa clients, Fehr Graham recognized for engineering excellence

Fehr Graham was awarded two 2018 ACEC-Iowa Engineering Excellence Awards from the American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC) of Iowa.

The Allamakee County Driftless Area Education and Visitors Center in Lansing, Iowa, was awarded the prestigious Honor Award. The building, adjacent to the Mississippi River, is a tribute to the unique land, water and history surrounding it.

“The incredible Driftless Area speaks for itself, but the opportunity to work with Allamakee County to tell the story of the land has been incredible,” said Lyle TeKippe, Fehr Graham Project Manager. “We’re delighted ACEC feels the same.”

Fehr Graham was also awarded an Achievement Award in the Transportation category for a site expansion for Martin Brothers Distributing Company in Cedar Falls, Iowa.

“Expanding the Martin Brothers site means much more than a physical upgrade,” said Jon Biederman, Fehr Graham Project Manager. “It means financial growth, jobs and opportunity for Cedar Falls and beyond.”

The Engineering Excellence Awards Competition recognizes some of the best projects in the state. Honor Awards are given to only two recipients, recognized for exceptional engineering that meet the needs of the client and benefit public welfare. Achievement Awards are given for those projects worthy of recognition for the engineer and the client. The firm will be presented with each award at the Iowa Annual Meeting Awards Banquet in May.
