Marc Smith promoted to Survey Technician Manager

Fehr Graham, a leading Midwest engineering and environmental firm, promoted Marc Smith to Survey Technician Manager, a role focused on strengthening field operations, advancing survey technology and supporting survey teams across the Northern Illinois and Wisconsin regions.

In this role, Smith leads field operations for Fehr Graham's northern Illinois and Wisconsin offices while overseeing survey technology firmwide. He coordinates field crews, supports equipment planning and helps expand the use of tools such as 3D scanning. He also will play a key role in developing the firm's survey technicians through training and mentorship.

Smith, who joined the firm in 2008, has extensive experience in land surveying, construction staking and survey technology. His background includes survey fieldwork and survey document creation, giving him a practical understanding of how survey teams can work efficiently and support clients and project teams.

"Marc understands what our field teams need because he has done the work and led it," said Fehr Graham Principal Seth Gronewold. "He brings strong technical judgment, a practical approach and the ability to help people grow. In this role, he will strengthen how our survey teams work together and help us keep advancing the technology behind that work."

Smith holds certifications for Hazardous Waste Site Operations and Emergency Response and Level III Training by United Technologies.
