Michael Hansen promoted to Branch Manager

Fehr Graham, a leading Midwest engineering and environmental firm, announced the promotion of Michael Hansen to Branch Manager.

Hansen was promoted from Senior Project Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of the firm's Champaign office. He will continue to serve Fehr Graham clients throughout central and southern Illinois while leading business development and marketing initiatives.

"We are excited about how well Michael's skill set complements an already very talented bunch in our Champaign location," said Mick Gronewold, Professional Engineer and Board Chairman. "He is a natural leader who is well established not only in his craft, but in both operations and staff development. We are excited to watch all he will do in this new role."

Hansen, who has nearly 20 years of engineering experience, joined the firm's Champaign office in 2022. He specializes in managing water, wastewater, water resource, civil and transportation projects. He also has a strong focus on business development.

Hansen is a Licensed Professional Engineer in Illinois, Kentucky, Missouri and Tennessee. He earned his bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from Southern Illinois University in Carbondale. He is a member of the American Water Works Association.

He takes the reins from Matthew Johnson, who served as Branch Manager since 2014. Johnson, one of the firm's owners, will remain in the Champaign office while he turns his focus to firmwide business development.

"I look forward to the opportunity to continue the track record of growth in the Champaign and central Illinois markets," Hansen said. "I have a talented, dedicated team and am excited to see what the future holds."

Hansen lives in Mahomet, Illinois. He and his wife, Sindy, are parents to a daughter, Olivia.
